This is a lovely poem with smooth rhyme and meter describing some of the surprises of spring. No wonder we love it so much, so many things emerge brand new.

Hi Brooke,
I've often thought about throwing some flower seeds into the wind and where they lay is where they stay. Trouble is, with my 'black thumb', they would turn into thistles and dandelions!! LOL
Nice spring/summer poem.
Cheers,
Keep Smilin'.... Jax

I love the phrase "surprises happen every day". This true if we look for the smiles and positives of each day. I like the descriptions of the interconnectedness of various events. I see the seeds and the final products coming into fruition. The words and the structure flow effectively and I love the colors. The photo is outstanding.

This is a neat way of looking at surprises, just as a child would especially with the birds eggs and polliwogs. My children loved watching the changes in both and were surprised. Great write once again my dear Lady. Bravo.

One of your best! What a lovely reminder of the small miracles of nature and the wonderfully uplifting feeling we gain from friendship in adversity. The kyrielle is just the perfect form for this one! Such a refreshing poem to wake up to this morning.

A lovely reflection, Brooke, on the wondrous nature of what we've sadly come to regard as ordinary occurrences. Too much happens that makes us systematically numb and close our hearts. And in a culture where many young people have developed a narcissistic sense of entitlement, the beauty around and within us is eclipsed by our temporal reality.
But indeed, 'surprises happen every day' if we're open!
Cheers

I love the kyrielle and haven't read one in quite some time. Lovely poem about the amazing surprises in nature. Just love the photo of Dad popping out of the sand. Sawyer looks pretty happy too. Very nice work with this one, I love the rhyme scheme of the kyrielle. Great work.

My ex was great with the kids too. He laughed, tickled and told them wonderful stories. We didn't communicate much...maybe I was too old...lol

Andy is the kind of guy who gets standing ovations at a karaoke place. :-)

Who doesn't love surprises?!
Nature's brilliant hues and magical creations give children and adults alike reasons to smile;
"meadow's in full bloom";
"blue perfection"; nice visual imagery;
A pleasurable read on nature's smallest gifts bringing great happiness.
