What a lovely poem, so full of expression and vivid imagery. I too, love the swing, and enjoy skipping stones whenever I get the chance. The mood in this piece makes me want to go enjoy the outside, before winter gets here. This is my favorite time of the year. A simply wonderful, happy poem.

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful review - skipping stones is just sooooo cool. I can only get it to skip about six times tops, but my dad and husband were both masters - I stood in awe :-)

Ahhh. Sweet Adewpearl. Where in the world do these things spring from in your mind. I have never seen a person, who consistently comes up with wonderful stories to tell with words, as you do.
Just wondering if you meant this word: "grandglorious."
Did you intend the "grand," or, mean "and?" Whichever of the 3 ways, it's a great poem.

Hello Brooke,
I have not been on a swing for almost sixty years believe it or not.
I quite often think of my childhood and the wonderful times I had. No flashy or trashy computer type toys in those days and yet we kids were happier and fitter than those of today.
Ah well, back to the present.
Another wonderful poem, full of reminiscence. A well-crafted piece of poetry without, as far as I could see, any errors.
Best wishes
Lawrie

You are as kind as ever in your response. Why no swinging? You don't have to swing way high like you did as a kid to enjoy it still. You really should treat yourself if you are physically able, and if you are not, then I'm glad I could at least make you recall this most simple and wonderful of pleasures.
    :-) Peace, Brooke

Unfortunately, in the mad, mad world of England's health and safety straightjacketed councils, swings are rarely to be seen; other than those with bars preventing babes from falling out and oldsters from getting in.
    Take care dear Lady,
    Best wishes and God Bless.

Oh, that is taking political correctness way beyond anything even slightly reasonable!!!

Could almost feel the wind in my hair in the swing!! Really enjoyed your work. Makes me want to go to the playground and find a swing to feel the breeze in my hair! Thanks!!!

Hey, I am planning my escape to the local park later today! I'll go during school hours and have the swings all to myself! LOL thanks for your kind review :-)

You have had no summer? Oh, that is making me so sad for you. What has it been like? Thank you so much for this lovely review :-)

constant rain and flooding below normal temps
records show this has been the worst summer
ireland has ever experienced. not so bad for me
to be honest coz i am visiting my son in australia
in december so i will have my summer then, but for
older people who need a bit of heat and sunshine it
was awful, also for the farmers, the crops the
animals it has been a disaster. hugs lynda.

I'm so sorry to hear of your beautiful country's awful summer - wow, visiting Australia - that country is on the top of my travel wish list.
