I enjoyed your program. God is indeed the answer to depression though sometimes coupled with the miracles of medication that God has provided. It takes both for me at least right now

I am not sure the statistics have changed. but my Psychiatrist told me that you make mid thirties and not get it you would not be likely to have the problem. I think the statics are probably are not up to date. Anyway I was 28 and the circumstances a very stressful situation during my PhD studies.

It seems to be endemic to all age groups these days, but I remember mine well, there's nowhere you can hide, but nothing since. So thanks for this wonderfully magnanimous, review my friend, blessings, Roy.

A personal view from the inside, about depression.
This is an affliction that a large percentage of the population suffers from. Young people do suffer as much/if not more than the rest of the age groups. I've often thought that this is to do with hormonal development. Just an idea.
A dark poem with a light ending. Your picture is appropriate to the poetry. Well written with much clarity. I like it.

Depression is a serious issue. There are many reasons for it: broken homes, lack of self-worth, inability to achieve our full potential, poor finances, etc. Immigration and rejection in a new land is also a factor. Weather can be a factor too: drought and continual bombardment with gale force winds and biting cold. It is not easy being human.
Lion of Judah stands with me,
my pain is eased until I see.
Wise words:
So I'll not fear within this night,
my faith has eyes to clear my sight.

Excellent poem. I think you captured a glimpse of the darkness with firm foundation of the hope that people sometimes need a reminder of.

You really do a great job with Rhyme and meter, Roy. The message I got before I ever read your explanation was that faith is vision...walking by faith is to allow God to be your eyes, particularly when we cannot trust what we are seeing or we can't see at all. Your explanation adds another depth to your piece. The irony is that we all have a tendency to trust what we see and what we know over what God tells us we should be seeing or what is truth.

It's not only youth that suffering from this crippling disease. It effects every one of all age groups. Currently there is an increase in suicides in the elderly as well, and of course many vets returning from Iraq and Afghanistan are suffering from it as well. This is good poem and it could well be that these are the feelings a person has while suffering from depression, but I also liked how you have included that God is the answer.

"In Dappled Shadows" is a perfect title for your well written poem about depression. But, the following stanza will get us all through the difficult times.
I know in darkness God can see,
and always He remains with me,
I'll close my eyes so I perceive,
He'll not desert me, never leave.
Well done Roy.
Blessings
