What a fun counting poem. Dandelions are such a fun flower well for some a weed, but I have great memories of them. You bring in some fun imagery with the animals that interact with the flowers. Fund rhymes sand rhythm.

The seeds were widely scattered
and planted in the ground,
till dandelions sprouted
with blossoms that abound.
Now I know why you are Number 1 in everything, my God Brooke, what an amazing poem, your mind is so wide opened, with all those subjects of each poem written by you. Its amazing the quality and quantity of your poems. You must really be very proud of yourself. I love the picture of Sawyer. Beautiful rhyming. Bless you Terry xoxo

Hi Brooke As usual a charming poem counting down the dandelions. A real lesson in the story for children and adults alike that life goes on.I'm not quite sure waht a 'voracious jay' is. Cheers Gaye

I loved this poem. Dandelions are my favorite wild flowers. To me they are the symbols of spring and summer. I'm so excited when they first come up and brighten the lawn. Great job!

I am amazed by your creativity and being a dandelion fanatic,I just love this saga of the ten dandelions and all they go through. Love the verse about the fairy's imbibing on wine. This is a wonderful creative poem to read over and over again. I am going to save it.

Oh Brooke, how utterly charming! I especially loved the stanza of the jay gobbling up that sweet breakfast dandelion (LOL), but then I loved the rabbit eating one too! What a wonderful children's poem!

What a creative piece of poetry! I simply lovely loved it. Its remarkable as it can be read on two levels a lovely, lively, musical poem which would definitely loved by children and a philosophical piece commenting on the transcendental nature of human life and its significance. A great job done!

This is a wonderful counting poem for children along the lines of 'and then there were none'. It ends on an uplifting not with the last dandelion spreading its seeds on the breeze to make more dandelions.

Can be used as an exercise for subtraction in a children's class.
Solid abcb rhymes
Good use of alliteration and enjambment
a beautiful poem as usual

To adewpearl,
A very unique concept you have taken that really grabs the reader's attention. For just like children we are all anxious to see the ending and what happens to the last of the bunch.
Very smooth flow and nice cadence; making for an easy read.
