I was given your name by bookishfabler and Judian James because I too have jumped on the chemotherapy treadmill. You write your experiences clearly and with calmness and intelligence. Also, we are the same age!
Hope you are feeling okay today.

I had chemo on Thursday and Sunday are my worst days. I am doing as well as can be expected today. I am sorry to hear to are doing the chemo thing too. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, but as my teenage son says, it's better than the alternative. He's right. Thank you for your kind review.

beautiful non-fiction autobiography, loved the poem, and list also. im so sorry about your cancer, but you truely did a wonderful job covering it, i'm so sorry that it took me so long to get to reading it. i've written a series about a girl with cancer and more, maybe youd enjoy them, or maybe you could see if i have my facts straight. if you want or wouldnt mind, you could find them in my portfolio. their, a summer to remember, and a summer to forget. working on the third right now.

Thank you for this informative piece. I have a dear friend who went through chemo. She would only say she was tired, or having an off day. I told her when the therapy started I would come and keep her company if she wanted. She only let me sit with her through two treatments, and went through the rest alone because it was so tiring for her.
I always knew there was more she was going through, but she was always too brave to share it. What you gave me in this write is enough knowledge to follow a more understanding path in the future.

WOW well I kind of can see what you are going through with this cancer. Mostly because I lost my mom to it. She had it in her lungs and went in remission.
Although lung cancer victims will always have a tumor in their brain. Lost her on Nov 11th 2000. Only thing is you got to live longer to describe what it is like! You should write it to the HOSPICE so that other victims can understand that they are not alone at all going through these diagnosis and symptoms with Chemo!!
Good for you!!

That is what I hope. After I finish all the treatment. I hope that my writings will help other survivors and their families.
-
Well why wait till the treatments are finished? You could use all the positive reinforcements tokeep on through it as it becomes "known" to the cancer victims now? You should not have to go through this alone....
-
Very true. I will see what I can do.

Don't give up and don't sell yourself short!! Go out there and heal yourself while sharing with others as well!! Only you can make it happen!!

I feel for you. I am exhausted and I'm just trying to survive Christmas without the chemo. This is a terrible time of the year to be going through this but the Lord knows what we are strong enough to handle. You are handling it well and with your sense of humor in tact. Thanks for sharing your story. One never knows when they might face the same. I watched my mother go through it and I know the being tired was hardest for her but a few chemo treatment did the trick and she did become cancer free. My prayers are with you.

Oh Ms Barbara as I read this story of your braveness and courage through your treatments I am again reminded in prayer for all those who suffer through this. I wanted to answer some of your questions and let me see here the one on fatigue. Your body will be that way. Lay all things to rest when you have this and don't push yourself. Listen to some soft music and continue your praying as I will for you. You need this rest between your treatments. I so admire you for writing this and also my heart goes out to you I love your positive attitude and you will be a survivor with this for I felt it as I read this whole article.
As far as those flushes just put a cool towel on your face and that too will subside. Sending you love and hugs gal and know I am also here for you praying and keeping you in my thoughts with much love and encouragement.
Blessings friend

This is amazing how this essay so clearly and descriptively written comes by a patient. It is very objective but does not feel technical at all. I hope and pray for your coming Phase Two and recovery, THANKS for all this information, cancer is every where, and you never know...
Merry Christmas and God bless you

Well, it sounds like, so far, you're getting through it okay. Modern medicine is great, but I really think that when it comes to things like cancer a person really has to have the will to survive. Keep fighting! :)
