Cold and alone on a snowy night.

Wintry Night

I walk alone in December's winter bite
Stars silver the somber frosty night
Freezing wind blowing, collar up tight
Snowflakes swirl in sallow moonlight
 
Breath prances before me like
Enchanted forest frosted sprites
Footsteps slide fretfully triggering
thoughts of ice flipping fright
 
Christmas lights peek from
beneath blankets of white
Homes lit with cozy comfort
Glow in the cold dark night
 
Hearth fire blazes and dances
On a window shrouded with ice
Inside shadows of lovers embrace
Sharing each other’s sensual delight
 
Alone…I walk the wintry night
