The story of an aggrieved heart

Safety

by Brenda Henderson

Hope

deferred

sickens one's

heart profoundly

it withers away

until it shrinks and hides

to protect itself from harm

scared isolated frozen still

tucked away secure behind the glass

Waiting hoping praying to be shattered!
