Stress at the beginning of a vacation

Vacation

by elissawrite

Went on vacation to relax
But instead got stressed to the max

The plane was stuck
In a delay
They say
Caused by a computer issue
Which was totally untrue.

Got to the transfer spot
With five minutes to spare
Not a seat together to be got
At people my daughter and I began to stare
Can't we sit together we say
Finally someone moved out of the way.

The palm trees we see
We spot grandpa and his key
To his car
Which won't take us far
To the lounge chair
Awaiting my derrière

Where's the luggage I ask
Other people's confusion begins to unmask
It didn't make it on the plane
The airline rep said in vain
We don't know why
She began to sigh.
Write down your information
We will call with confirmation
To get your bags tomorrow.
Clothing we will have to buy or borrow
Until they call
And fix the problem for all.

Finally we look for the car
It's not very far
Oops it's not this way
But over there
Please end this morning I say
One more thing I can't bear

Finally we arrive
After a very quick drive
My chair is waiting
And my stress is abating.
Happiness increasing
Tension ceasing.
