Yorkshire Lady of the Isles

by Y. M. Roger

An animal? I do declare!
Why would you spread such lies?
A little lady’s what I am,
And perfectly pint-sized!

I’ve seen the others of my kind,
The
horror they endure:
They have no bed, no mummy’s touch...
No knowledge of couture!

Now you might think I’m
short on sense
With hair that’s long and blonde…
I’ll have you know, you boorish brute,
I’m pure canine beau monde!
