A story of returning to the upright position
I Salute You
by Brian Taylor1
Tony, looking out the window, saw two raccoon's wrestling like Olympians.
During the tussle, their momentum led them to roll into an American flag
staked in the ground, ending the match. One of them, like a patriot,
returned the flag to its upright position. He then, while looking at it,
scratched above his eye, resembling a salute.
Tony was so motivated he did ten push-ups and begged his ex-wife,
a veterinarian and a veteran, to take him back.
