Sonnet

vision of beauty

by judester

As sunlight blazes through shafts of gold hair
she dances in pure childlike abandon
compliments paid, laurels laid in hushed air
From dark beginnings, she rose like the sun.

So hard to think that sly sadness would pull
her glamorous life down, tainted it seems.
Heartfelt accolades, siren calls would lull
the meekest of men to love her in dreams.

Yet as night falls, you will find her in tears
this woman's fears stoked by internal doubt.
Mirror'd taunts, reflecting low silvered sneers
damning whispers rise from deep, become shouts.

Visual perfection, catches your breath,
pleasing the eyes, until the peace of death.
