Letters to a Hurricane

by Tina Crute

An Anxious ocean
Breeze ,blown and brewed
Counterclockwise, consequentially and
Depressingly delivers destruction,
Erratically endangering everyone.
Forces of ferocious fury, like
Gallivanting gusts, generate
Huge, howling horror,
Inevitably imparting injury. It
Jostles and jumps, (just joking). It
Kisses land with karate kicks, and
Lashes land and life
Monstrously, mostly May to
November, never nice, or
Orderly or Overly organized. It
Progressively pummels then punctures the
Quiet, with a quick quest, a
Roaring run of ravaging
Storm surge and sustained
Trajectory, with tyrannically terrorizing
Upheaval. The hurricane's unbelievable, unwelcome
Victory is violent and, seemingly vengeful,
Wielding worrisome wreckage, while
Xpectantly
Yielding--yes you guessed --it,
Zero.

I just wanted to try an ABC poem and a hurricane seemed the most dramatic to write about!
For my friends who commented...thank you!...this is for you...
I did not use an "x" word, because none really worked,
and by :yielding zero", I meant a hurricane is unyielding. It definitely yields disaster! If poets had grade levels, I would be in First grade, but I am loving "poem school" on here!
