"Please don't let her die here," I implore the emergency technician whose tag reads 'Jim.' I weep as lights strobe and rust-colored fluid pulses onto the pavement.
He attempts another jolt of resuscitation. Nothing. Not one spark of life.
"I'm sorry," says Jim. "You definitely need a new battery."
