Fall Glories and Splendors

by dovemarie

What a wonderful intake of breath!
I feel as though I have awakened from death
Summer's heat
Had me dead on my feet

Sharp air fills my nostrils
Rainbow-colored leaves give my eyes thrills
Embracing me is a soft coolness
Like my mother's hand during childhood illness

Splashy and splendiferous colors of skies
Glorious and glowing at summer's demise
Carpets of miraculously turning leaves strewn on the ground
Whispering winds make a delicious sound

Laughing children on their way to school
Leaf-laden puddles are a stepping-stone pool
Orange-painted clouds float above
In a season of resplendent love
