I have this bad recurring dream,
and when I wake I start to scream.
It's through a misty fog I see
a three eyed monster after me.
Its rotting flesh has putrid sores.
Behind it are three open doors.
I'm told that I must choose the one,
that has the key to find the gun

If I can guess the winning door.
I'll shoot the monster in its core.
But how to know which one to pick?
I feel like I am getting sick.
My head is spinning with the stress.
It's almost like a game of chess.
The middle door's the one I choose.
I wish I had some good strong booze.

Decided, I await my fate.
The monster hides behind a gate.
It's getting ready to attack.
I start to run and turn my back.
That's when I wake up in the night.
I never know if I was right.
It's way too scary to find out.
I can't be sure without a doubt.

I think it could become quite real.
If I am caught, I might not heal.
The only way to stop this fright
is finding out in sleep tonight.
I'm back to sleep and fear my heart
will beat so fast it falls apart.
I run to reach the door I chose.
I enter and a key it shows.

But, where's the gun I need to kill?
The room is cold; I feel a chill.
I hear the monster's loud approach.
From inside walls out comes a roach
I now know that the wall is fake.
Behind I find the gun I take.
Just when the monster runs right in,
I shoot him dead and so I win.

I wake with wide and open smiles.
I feel I've walked a thousand miles.
Though tired I know this dream is gone.
I'm giddy from this high I'm on.
I know I took a real big chance,
but now my thoughts are free to dance.
My future sleep won't have that fear.
I think that much is very clear.
