Trilogy of Faith

I am a Catholic lector
With Christ as my Director
Joining in the Mass with the priest
Reading the Word before the Eucharistic feast

I serve the water and the wine
Unconsecrated yet, soon to be divine
I set the table before the meal
Jesus will come to strengthen and heal

I am a minister of Communion
Congregation and I in state of union
Offered to the old and young
To the hand or on the tongue

These are my parts on the Holy stage
In all of which I love to engage
