Peace of Mind

                             Peace of Mind
 
I wake up and worry with thoughts in my mind
Just how can we fix up our broken man-kind?
With nations and leaders determined to fight
That leaves war torn cities, without real respite.
 
Where mothers and fathers then lose their loved ones
When battles are fought, not with words, but with guns.
Their lives lost forever, there is no return
Still warring continues with no lessons learnt.
 
Life should be so precious; a gift to us all
Not put on a war line to watch it just fall
We must cherish each day with love in our hearts
Do right by each other, and not tear apart.
 
I hope in my lifetime, that wars will all end
With not man’s destruction, but peace will descend.
And then I’ll not worry and live my life free
Enjoy all that’s given to you and to me.

Some thoughts that came to me when I awoke so put them down and I hope you agree. In these troubled times it is not easy to ignore what happens in war torn countries and I am so Thankful to live in Australia.
