An elf's coherent explanation

Do Elves Grow Up

by F Scott Hafner

An Elf, does he ever grow up?
But rocks always grow down.
Many believe the moon eats escargot
Of course not, elephants like butterflies

Had ice cream never met a volcano,
we would have never had grasshoppers.
But who cares about vampire bats,
oranges keep trying to date adjectives.

A smile is just an upside-down walrus,
waiting for the paint to dry.
Why does paint dry, you ask?
To keep pirates from getting lost in the desert.

Too many green words smell bad,
not unlike how bunnies ponder black holes.
Although while wind waits patiently,
letters are never properly conjugated.

So, the conclusion is hamburgers and pressure.
Should anyone doubt my apples,
how could you possibly cover ants with tectonics?
Rain forests not excluded.

The moral to the story,
Never ask an elf if he ever grows up.
You might get an explanation as I did above.
It was perfectly clear to him. You decide.
