Remembering's

by randman58

Some bite, some sting,
some smiles do bring
when stillness calls remembering's
Both good and bad,
some lessons had
within these raw remembering's

Girls kissed, friends missed,
the staring abyss
accentuate these meanderings
Babe's truth, lacked couth,
times swallowed youth
left now but to remembering's

Heart stabbed, gut grabbed,
old scars re-scabbed
from specters that come beckoning
The loss, the waste,
the bitter tastes
in hindsight's clearer reckoning.

To chance a dance
with a brief back glance
promotes a forward reasoning
For cells to dwell
in histories spell
risks nostalgic over seasoning.
