Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Guns dished out like candy.

Why do we stand?

by royowen

Why do we stand to dish out guns
that kill a hundred sheep?
And say, "Please don't politicise
our freedom we must keep."

There are so many sacred cows
as weapons seem to be;
and on this alter blood's required --
an endless killing spree.

The price of freedom's really high --
It's worth death's thorny crown.
What measure is a young child's life
but lay those weapons down.

Where can we find some mercy friend,
to cause blind eyes to see?
And drink that essence of God's love
from wells no eye can see.

How can one serve with gracious ways
unless from thirst one drinks?
Come to the fount that ever flows
before your sweet-breath stinks.

*Photo of kids protesting their lack of safety. They also have a right to feel safe. The truth is...they're not!
Somebody said "If guns make people safe, then the U.S. and Yemen must be the safest places on Earth."
Relative to the US, England and Australia have very few gun deaths, one can't own a gun without good reason, excepting competition gun clubs, or hunting, they are considered OK, but not self defence, is not considered a god reason.
