Blackout

by DALLAS01

Lights--screaming red
pulsing,
jarring him awake;
silence lying beneath
the front wheel
floating in a puddle
stained in Crimson--
packaged small
curled and rumpled
in a ball;
sirens flashing
urgency
posted in the rear view mirror;
remnants of a party--
on the seat an opened beer.
Soaked khakis seeping urine;
confusion paints the night,
writes the story,
seeds the fear.
A life exhaled on the perforated seam of sobriety.
