Loop Poem

~ Letting Go ~

by PoemsOfDD

Don't worry, calm your mind, be still
Still scared but in safe caring hands
Hands supportive, loving and kind
Kind thoughts somberly understands

Understands it won't be long now
Now weary from long suffering
Suffering, you ask softly, "when...
when will the angels come to sing?"

Sing to you gently as you lay
Lay while you close your tired eyes
Eyes drifting towards heaven's nest
Nest in my arms for our goodbyes

Goodbyes to the pain you carried
Carried now on angel's wing span
Span of our lifetime together
Together pray...God has a plan

Plan my day with each rising sun
Sun of warmth like your smile brought me
Me, just I...but I will find strength
Strength you showed before setting free

Free to fly, leave it all behind
Behind the dark glows brighter light
Light that shines my way back to you
You and I shall unite in flight ~

There are no restrictions on the number of stanzas nor on the syllable count for each line.
