This work has reached the exceptional level
He went before me and he cleared the path

A chapter in the book Story Poems

He hears and sees all

by smileycloud

Thanks be to the Lord

A long, sad and lonely, rough road spanned ahead
Traversing through the distresses in my head
My heart beat like a wild broken mechanism
Life was a blocked lane like a huge embolism

I wrongly thought I staggered the road solo
It was time I looked beyond myself to know
He walked ahead to clear the path of debris
He had already heard my unspoken plea

Suddenly there were options to consider
Like being tuned into a clear transmitter
Answers to problems became second nature
Though not perfect I saw a brighter future

Once I listened; I would see; then I acted
Wise actions poured out; the troubles retracted
My remedies for life came through a strong stance
I did not see and hear Him purely by chance

He heard me cry when I did not shed a tear
He cloaked me in strength when all I felt was fear
He answered prayers I had not yet uttered
He gave before I asked; to Him I mattered

Since then we chat all the time everywhere
The world looks happier devoid of despair
I will have losses and will not always win
Success is wearing Him like a second skin
