Winter's Chilly Frosty Breath

by Liberty Justice

Wonderful windy winter's icy
fingers uses its' paintbrush to
paint trees a freezing frosty white.
Winter's chills coat the air with
dangling dancing icicles.

Winter's breezy breath blows
snowmobiles and ice skaters
sliding along slippery slopes.
Blows out fire lit by lovers'
cozy campfires.

Winter's breezy breath chills me
to the bones,
Numbing my rosy frostbitten nose,
harsh hands and frozen feet.

Winter's wicked arms wrap
snow-stacked
barriers
Around our houses dumping four feet
deep mounds of thundering
snow in driveways.

Winter's wild hands throw snowballs at
our children's heads,
knocking them to freezing frosty ground.
Jams snow and frozen hail
under wheels of cars,
Making digging ice out impossible.

Winter's icy snow causes birds to
fly for cover,
Squawking loudly at Mr. Winter.
My sweetheart and I sit
inside by a candlelit fireplace,
Watching Winter's Breath blow out our
lights.

Drinking hot cocoa, eating toasted
marsh mellows,
While wicked winter howls
hounding at our snow-barricaded
windows and doors
ALL NIGHT.

Personification of Winter writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Using any form of poetry, with or without rhyming, write about Winter using the technique of personification (as if this season were a person).

We feel when Winter's Wrath is here, because Mr. Winter blows its' icy cold breath in our face and chills us to the bones. Mr. Winter blew my electricity lights out, then there was no heat but the warmth from the fireplace. All night Winter's Wrath kept trying to blow my doors down and windows out with his powerful breath, as though he wanted to storm into our already chilled but cozy home.
