Lost loved ones and lost memory

As we age

AS WE AGE

As we age our memories fade
It gets so hard to remember
Through the ocean of reminiscence we wade
Those memories, just a burning ember

As we age and lose those we love
It's those memories that mean so much
These are all I'm thinking of
Your taste, your smell, your touch

Gone are days of innocent youth
Where together we'd discover
That beautiful age where you didn't need proof
That you were my only lover

Together we've grown in this beautiful world
And still we hold each other
We lay together, our hands are held
We never want for another

And as our days come to an end
We'll look back on what has been
You've been my lover and my best friend
It's true love, it's a beautiful scene

Yes I have used this lovely image before because I think it just epitomizes lasting love to the end so I will use it again for this poem
