Thoughts from my morning walk

Into the Wind

by GWHARGIS

I decided to walk this morning despite the tropical storm force winds in my face. I need to walk. If I don't, I get cranky and feel like a caged dog. Walking is not only good for the derrière but also good for the soul.

Today was a struggle. My usual walking partner bailed on me. It was dark and windy, a salty mist was fogging up my glasses but I kept going.

Each step I took the wind seemed to increase. By the time I reached the beach, the gusts all but knocked me over. I snapped my morning photograph to document the enflamed sea and turned around to return home.

My walk today got me thinking about life , in general. As hard as it was to leave the safety of my home, go out into the unknown elements, I did it. Granted, there were a few times I almost turned around, but I didn't. And when I was on my way home, the wind was at my back. I felt it pushing me forward, not slowing me down.

When you go through life you'll sometimes be walking against hurricane force winds. The rain will fog up your glasses so you can't see straight. But eventually you will change direction and that wind will be at your back.

Remember one thing. Hurricanes don't last forever.

A little inspiration for the day. Hope it helps someone. Thank you, supergold, for the amazing shot.
