Understanding Life.
The Top of the mountain
I thought I wanted to change my past
To say I'm over it
To shout, I have moved on
I wanted to pretend
Pain no longer existed
A miracle cure
Evolved into one of those
Perfect People, we believe exist
The ones who understand life
Cliches, written in the book of life
The grass is greener on the other side
If you fall off a horse, get back on
Instead, time hurt my back
The world evolved around me
And left me behind.
Atlas lost his strength
He could no longer hold the world on his shoulders
He resisted defeat but lost in a moment of devasting despair
When life seemed unfair
Cruel
Wrong
Yet,
When life chose the deepest pit
My soul refused to listen
My heartbeat, fast and loud,
continued to knock at the door of life.
refusing to be ignored
Somehow,
I lifted the world
under my own power
I found a deep power
within me
written in the history of my past
My voice loudly proclaimed
I have stories to tell
I have memories to share
I've seen death in eye of a friend
I know every life comes to an end
I believe every seed seeks the sun
Through my past
I will reach out to you
I will let you know
I hope I am there
The day your world collapses
When you lose all you love
I will slowly help you
climb to the top
of a new mountain
The one you created
from the moment you were born
The small part of the history of the world
You became
Those historical moments defined
by your name7
