A Fatal Sting

Swelling of the throat was the first symptom. His pulse sped up and a bluish tinge suffused his cheeks and lips. Within minutes he had lost consciousness.
She gazed lovingly at the dead bee, its abdomen torn apart. She lifted it by one wing and placed it in the throat of a white lily. What sweetness she imagined as she closed the lid on the honey pot.
Free at last, and how she had enjoyed watching his final moments of agony!
The cramp was sudden.
She clutched her silken dress to her stomach as she lurched forward into the pool.
