Like I Can Fly

by michaelcahill

... and did you think I'd break and fall apart;
though sticking 'round-- you feel you have to do?
What makes you think your master of my heart?
it's over-- you must be who I once knew.

Why do you stay as though your obligated?
False memories will never warm my dreams.
It is not me. it's what you instigated;
guilty giving's bring nightmarish screams.

Just leave and give me credit and some pride;
you're not that special, I'm still standing tall.
I'd never grace you with my suicide,
or be the ghost who whispers, "You were all".

The view is lovely Cliffside-- the sun sets.
My love grows wings to soar with-- no regrets.
