A Picture This Challenge entry

Hanging by a Thread

by frogbook

So fragile she stands.
Unhappy, she waits.
On finest strands,
with delicate traits.

Little puppet girl,
so like one I know,
lips nary a curl,
emotions don't show.

Deep in those eyes,
another girl dwells,
too old and too wise,
inside empty shell.

Hurts brutally inflicted,
then left all alone,
never once gifted,
with love or a home.

Waits, life eskew,
in a strange place,
dreams of rescue,
a person of grace.

To take her away,
a place with no strife,
"Please God", she prays,
"Bring Puppet Girl to life."
