This is another example of the method of minimalism, of using repeating patterns to create the music of language in poetry. It is kind of a romantic theme, lost love, broken relationships, and the I thought the echo would be a perfect mechanism for capturing it. Here we have a sense of distance in space and time, of fragments of images glittering in the emptiness, voices hanging in the air, calling after us, after we've gone. estory
