Bath

by Heather Knight

Your golden walls
Reflect the sun.
Making me think
Of your glorious past.

I can see ladies
In embroidered robes,
Carriages bouncing
On the cobblestones.

They tell me Jane
Didn't love you.
To me, however,
You're the motherland.

In the shade of the Abbey,
In the Roman Baths,
In Parade Gardens or Henrietta Park,
I swim in happiness,
I dance in delight
Cause you're the one.
