Reflections

by frogbook

Nothing finer than the streets of Paris in a carriage,
I smile as the ride makes me think of our marriage.

You so handsome, me so shy, so in love, so young;
our life like a melody, a song waiting to be sung.
I cherish you now as I cherished you then,
Lost in your memory, the present intrudes once again.

It's a beautiful day, raining, sun peeking its head out,
People with umbrellas shop, children laugh and shout.
Cars driving and bikes pedaling, dogs running along,
the rain pelting the roof sounds like our song.

Technicolor city, church spires reaching for the sky,
I look up at its azure and remember your eyes.
The years go so quickly, but our love stays true,
everything I see is a reflection of you.

When we were young we lived life in a reverie,
now, I just relax and bask in your memory.
