    The Nonet, Explained
(9)  It takes but nine silly syllables
(8)  followed by four more tiny feet,
(7)  seven more, with six beneat
(6)  six lines still left to view
(5)  and ten sylbs to do
(4) here are four more
(3) It was fun
(2) down to
(1) one

feet - In poetry, a "foot" usually contains one stressed syllable and at least one unstressed syllable. In line two of "The Nonet, Explained," "two tiny feet" means eight syllables.
