Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
A song I wrote and published long ago sung by Susan Rose

A chapter in the book From out of the Grayness

One Night Stand

by His Grayness

They call this a one night stand
Here in my cigarette ashes I stand
Oh lord, aint this just a castle of sand
I watch everyone go by
Somewhat blurred by the tears in my eyes
I said "play misty", the band said they'd try
Step right up, give your order
Get a drink in your hand
You're up for grabs on the shelf on this one night stand
Some are stumbling, some are dancing, some are simply
Standing still, "swayin' like the leaves on November trees
I don't want to join them, I know I will, The lonely gentleman
Said "Please" He blew out the candle and said....That same old line
I've come to dread: "your place or mine, I'll pick up some wine"
"Say I'm glad that I met you, tonight will be grand....
He doesn't know what it's like to be a fool on a one night stand!

Lyrics Make The Song contest entry

This is lyric from a song I wrote and published in the seventies. It did very well and I thought I would share it for this lyric contest.
