I'm just a simple poet
Who didn't even know it

Until one day in college
With little or no knowledge

Then I was forced
to take a course

creative writing 101
My journey had begun

Nothing more written
Until I was smitten

Thity five years passed
I'm here at last

Still rhyming away,
Day after day

Finding my styles
Getting some smiles

At the age of sixty eight
I now participate

Still stuck in rhyme
To end my time

I want to meet my maker
as a giver, not a taker
