The Dance

by Janet Foor

Seems oh so long ago and far away
you took my hand and we began this dance.
We laughed and listened to the music play
while spinning ‘cross the ballroom in a trance.

We whirled around in harmony each day --
a symphony of wonder filled the skies.
With yearning we both willed our love to stay
a blissful melody that never dies.

But, could this dance forever be the one
that lasts through tribulations and the din
of troubles that would go beyond the sun --
to pirouette and then again, begin?

When through the hills I heard those church bells chime,
I knew our dance would stand the test of time.

This is strictly metaphorical. My wonderful husband doesn't dance so I guess this is my dream after watching Dancing with the Stars. haha
