The torch of light

THE TORCH OF LIGHT

I hold the torch that shines the light, 
that shows the way throughout the night. 
I walk the path that leads the way 
as I confront a brand new day. 

I carry on, forks in the road, 
force me to bear this heavy load; 
a load I take along life's trip. 
I clutch that torch in steely grip... 

Luminance gives me direction; 
I take one path, it's my selection. 
My destination is unsure, 
For I have not been there before.

I suppose this was inspired by my stint of depression a few years ago. I always knew there was a light at the end of the tunnel and I was shining it right ahead of me and didn't realize.
