Simple Reflections

by rosehill (Wendy)

While stumbling through the sand to reach the sea,
intent on inward travel to reflect
on heartache, fate arranged to draw my gaze
into the now - and foiled my disconnect.

The molten sunset, mirrored in the sea
sent wind-blown shadows riding every swell
where hula dancing palms swayed in the tide,
while feathered fronds waved pain a fond farewell.
