Lonely Poem

New Vistas

Loneliness settles in the heart
like a shadow, an unwelcome guest.
It gnaws at our spirit, steals our inner peace.
Loneliness enfolds us
like a prison without walls.
Social in our DNA we long to share
our innermost being.
Yet loneliness has purpose.
It hollows out a space for reflection,
new vistas, allowing us to
peek into our own soul.
