Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
a nonet poem

parlour tricks

Elephant sways to his solemn dirge
taken from his beloved herd.
This barren world confuses,
cold chains hold, he muses.
Gentle spirit sick,
beaten with sticks.
Parlour tricks,
tourist
kicks.

Thanks to Life is but a dream for the perfect illustration. Baby elephants are captured and beaten to perform stupid parlour tricks for the mindless tourists. Elephants are very social beings and need their family... many die from sheer heartbreak, sigh.
