My Bucket List

I'd like to write a book and see my story on the screen--
And maybe have a say in choosing actors to be seen,
But in reality, I guess, my bucket list excludes
Such total whimsy as that is; my stage in life precludes
Such long-term goals; I'd better think what's most important now--
That maybe, If my prayers are heard, will come about, somehow.
I hope to see my daughter wed and happy with her choice
And my grandchild, as she matures, will listen to the voice
Of reason that says those who work are those who truly should
Receive rewards, not slackers, in her quest for doing good.
I think what I would really like to witness, if I can,
Is our rebirth--the USA becoming great again!
