The Life of a Poet

Words pounding in my head
When winds softly moan
In crowded restaurants
Even when I lie in bed
Words keep sounding in my head

When taking a relaxing, hot shower
Drop the soap and scrubbing brush
Run from the water's soothing rush
Scurry for pen and any scrap
Get words down on any crap

Will the pounding ever stop?
Hope not
