The Purple Heart is a USA military decoration awarded in the name of the President to those wounded or killed while serving our country.
Senryu is a form of Japanese poetry similar to haiku in construction: three lines with 17 or fewer syllables. Senryu tends to be about human nature. They are usually cynical or have dark humor. It doesn't require a kigo or season word.
This senryu is my opinion about the lack of care and respect for our elders.
CIA census statistics show that out of the 46 million elderly in our country, 43.1 million live in poverty. I think that is shameful and unacceptable.
