cruel whispers

she swings in sweet bliss
as cruel whispers swirl and fade,
oblivious joy.

Thanks to helvi2 for the perfect illustration. I once saw a woman/child with Downs Syndrome enjoying the swings at the park. A group of girls were pointing and making fun. The girl on the swings, in true, blissful Down's fashion, called to them to join her with a big smile, bless.
