Life is a gamble.

If cords of doubt...

by royowen

If cords of doubt have seized your mind,
decision's drought has made you blind;
where can one turn when wild winds blow?
One needs a guide to wisdom's flow.

Just what is wise and what is truth,
where does one search in vision's youth?
For none of us is truly wise-
what's 'round the bend, beyond that rise?

How many times plans go awry-
when sad hearts wail their mournful cry;
who knows which way the wind will turn,
with fire, which life, or home will burn?

With confidence some folk declare,
there is no God -- I have no care;
yet in that trench, life's in God's hand,
who's truly proud to trust luck's stand?
Who knows what card to pick or draw-
when all one feels is chance's claw?

There's just one Lord -- one seeing eye,
omniscient one, with Him I'll fly.
I'll settle under God's great wings-
then I care not...what darkness brings.

Life is truly a gamble, none of us knows the future, we can guess, by the look of the world there's only one conclusion one can draw, unless something drastic happens to change that! From the moment we rise in the morning to retiring in the evening, our life is like rolling dice, we never truly know what will transpire. Before I met Christ I was a compulsive gambler, I understand gambling.
I thank God for my life till now, because its truly in His hands. And yet people take their chances away from Him. He is gracious but one day...
James 4:14b "For what is your life? it is even but a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away." NKJV
Psalm 139 : 7-13."Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to Heaven you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hands will lead me, and your right hand will hold me.
If I say "Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me shall be light,"
even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as day, for darkness is as light to you. For you formed my inward parts, you knitted me together in my mother's womb."NKJV
