Closing time

Kissed In Time

by Walter L. Jones

Oh poet oh dear poet
how could you cast me here
your soul calls for freedom
but tears are all I hear
I covered my face
Grace of another time
beat my chest
Still I bleed
Sober on truth and pitted foods
Shoes from the souls of crosses
kiss the cheek of dead friends.
Again they hang them tall and high
Stoned in memories left on wine wed
please comes in clouds of coffee clowns
on we march in rhythmed sent.
Me I walk in broken hues
Hair as cold as sunshine tried
squares burned in failed plans
clan of pilgrims in a deserted land
understand is just a plea for more
On across the water
please chime lord set my people
on rock of stoned and alone
me just let me find truth to call my own
As the dark gathers me
no place to rest
guest of brother hood
I've failed the human test
