Unrelinquished and Relished

LOVE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT

Unrelinquished and Relished

Shall I just say, "Hell no" and stand and fight?
It seems all those around me quake with grace.
I've no intention of a grateful flight
into the sky with peace upon my face.

For now, I've lust and love I must pursue;
you all can knit and piss into a cup.
I've still a yearning and it's overdue;
I hunger with a thirst for sweetest sup.

I gaze upon a sea of vacant stares,
and come upon a pair of eyes ablaze.
I pull her from a pile of sad spent flares,
and sparks reflect in every vacant gaze.

The young have heat, but quick it fizzles out;
but ancient fires burn longest, there's no doubt!

Okay, a real sonnet then.
As requested. :))
