Missing yet Knowing
I thought I heard his name come,
middle of the night awoke all stunned,
asleep and many miles from,
him, a great man, was it his name, come;
Picked up the phone,
knew he was gone in a stroke,
tears were falling as I felt my own life go,
barely breathing myself, strangled and choked.
There wasn't an answer, strangely odd,
really just proof the Angels had come as our Father did nod,
where ever he left from, it doesn't matter, Angels did come,
escort home safe, Heaven, and darling that can't be undone;
Sitting in the dark,
picked up the phone,
could tell by her voice,
Angels for him had come;
Falling upon my knees,
eyes all foggy by the tears,
thanked God for him grabbing,
me as his daughter who was adopted that year;
Although it came in the dark,
I know where he is resting in happiness eternally parked,
with the only Lord and Saviour,
Dear Daddy, I'll be there when my name sparks.
It may of been dark and at night,
He sent His angels as my fathers name was cheered while taking flight;
Hold him close, Jesus dear,
please send me angels to help keep my father near,
I'm only human as he'll be missed,
will see you there dad, no more fear,
you ran all bases and are home safe,
touched every base,
he is with Jesus after hitting his home run leaving great memories to trace.
