Don't Despair

Don't Despair
by

While laughter is a rarity
and tears fall more than not,
God's birds still serenade at dawn -
injustice is still fought.

And even though the glaciers melt,
and sun's rays burn our skin -
somewhere a miracle occurs
in spite of all man's sin.

Yes, all it takes is stillness
long enough to hear His voice -
there's plenty left here on this earth
in which one can rejoice.

A babe is born for every minute
each of us draws breath,
and He is there awaiting us
upon our destined death.

Our lives are brief, the flicker of
a candle in a breeze,
so each and every day should count,
our troubles faced with ease

in sure and certain knowledge
that our sins have been absolved,
and in the life beyond this one,
all problems are resolved.

Restore the laughter, bring His light
to hearts dark with despair -
your happiness increases then
because you feel Him there...

No more will pain or sorrow rule,
nor fear, nor want or shame.
There's infinite and lasting joy
in worshiping His name.
